Pat Robertson Explains How Vindictive Gays Are For Taking Away Everybody’s Freedom

Screen Shot 2015-10-01 at 5.25.59 PMPat Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and host of The 700 Club, is putting his own spin on the fight for equality. Right Wing Watch reports that after an appearance from conservative poster children Kim Davis and Barronelle Stutzman on The 700 Club in which they discussed the legal battles they lost after their blatant displays of antigay discrimination, Robertson chimed in with his thoughts on “the gays,” as he’s prone to do.

After acknowledging the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of same-sex marriage, Robertson went on a tirade about how “they don’t want to stop there.”

“It is vindictive now. We’re not talking about having rights from the poor, oppressed gays, we’re talking about taking away the freedoms of everybody who disagrees with them,” Robertson stated.

He urged his viewers to take a stand for people like Davis and Stutzman, who in the gospel according to Robertson have become victims of the press, and subsequently, laughing stocks. Mr. 700 Club clearly doesn’t understand that these women turned themselves into jokes all on their own through their bigoted, not to mention illegal, actions and needed little help from the media.

The televangelist punctuated his rambling with the warning, “They somehow think this is a civil rights issue. They better be careful what they’re doing because they’re taking away the rights of everybody.”

So there you have it. Robertson’s warped thought process has him believing that the quest for LGBT equality is taking away the rights of others. As they say in the South, bless his heart.

Watch the video of Pat Robertson’s rant below. Spoiler alert: He doesn’t do the 360-degree head spin nor does he spew any projectile vomit at any point during the clip.
