Perez Hilton Wants More Pervert Action In LGBT Media
Queerty has never been a big fan of Perez Hilton, but we actually agree with his thoughts on the state of America’s LGBT media. He echoes Andrew Sullivan’s Big Think video in saying it will take individual contributions to change the queer media landscape. And just in case you’re worried that Hilton has gone legit, he also mentions his alternative to GLAAD—HAPPY: Homosexuals and Perverts Protecting You.

This guy makes me cringe. He spent years bashing and outing many gay people against their will and yet now that his image is one of a despised and hated individual NOW he is all up in arms. It seemed it was ok when he was making his money and making himself Infamous, now he finds his morals

Although Reggie humanizes him, he has a ways to go to redeem himself from that awful site he peddles. Like Sarah Palin’s visage, his just puts me in a sour mood.

Perez is one to talk. His site, while still repugnant in many ways, really has lightened up as he has earned more money. And since this is Queerty, nice that you lost weight Perez, now see an orthodontist, you can afford it.

Perez is proof that one doesn’t have to be photogenic, talented or have any other skill to contribute other than typical bitter snarky gay guy. That somehow kept insulting celebrities until they allowed him to come to the party now and then so he would write less snarky and bitter articles about them. Like a present-day Truman Capote, only without the credentials of having written ‘In Cold Blood.’

Perez Hilton is an asshat who’s made a living promoting half-naked female singers who use autotune. People like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga come to mind, as well as Britney Spears. Note it’s only the half-naked females he seems to be promoting, and not half-naked men. In my view, he’s living out his fetish of turning on sleazy straight guys through half-naked women.
He’s sad, pathetic, and a drag on our community.

1) I don’t like the interview style of the vid. They waste time with text when they could just have an engaging host or ask the guest to explain the question in the answer.
2) What’s with Queerty’s snarky comment, “just in case you’re worried that Hilton has gone legit, he also mentions… Homosexuals and Perverts Protecting You.”
WTF. Does that mean that LGBT figures have to be one dimensional? Do you make similar comments when covering someone like Lisa Lampanelli?
3) Bottom line, we need to invest more money in on the ground grassroots activists instead of giving money to the countless LGBT clone groups duplicating the same objectives while there EDs make 6 figures and they ignore the small town/rural/suburb gays.

Perez/Mario is actually a wonderful person and prior to his perez personae did and currently does a great deal for LGBT organizations.. including OUTFEST where he was a volunteer for several years.
I noticed that Queerty didn’t mention the amazing interview the former GLAAD Co-Chair Laurie Pepper gave earlier this month after she resigned,and took 14 board members with her after telling the ED that they should dismantle the organization. You need to hear this:
