The 29-year old also compares anti-gay attitudes to America's Jim Crow laws, saying, "People treat sexuality the same way that [during] Jim Crow [white] people treated African-Americans… It’s totally dehumanized."

You can be black and gay. The difference is that you can hide your sexuality whereas you can't hide your blackness.
So in that context Jim Crow is different and I think that is what the person was getting at.

I'm kinda lost on the whole black and gay thing b/c i'm both an di hid my sexuality for 13 years and it was hard but easy. And hiding your blackness is hard b/c it shows on your skin and i get all the common slander from both sides b/c of the stereotypes i get from both sides and it comes mostly from ppl i thought of as close to me. but yea….he's gay, and it's totally cool. more so cuz he is hot and i love his whole punk rock/ almost emo attitude and i love his glasses. lol.
