In a subtle nod to Detroit Pride, GM commissioned this ad for its hybrid Volt, which revisits the coming-out process through the eyes of a young automobile. Could this be the plot of Cars 3? Pixar, are you listening?
Cute ad. But pretending the be gay-friendly just to sell more cars?
·
So was Vince Vaughan right after all – electric cars really ARE gay?
·
@christopher di crapito: Pretending? GM offers full domestic partner benefits, and full protection for employees based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Hyundai, for one, isn’t so “friendly”, and neither is Porsche, according to gaywheels.com. And yes, I work for GM–just offering some facts to counter misperceptions.
·
@christopher di crapito: What is biased about telling the truth about their treatment of gay staff? Get over yourself Christopher!
·
Facts aren’t biased in either direction. He stated clearly what GM offers. Just because you seem to want to say that they are anti gay doesn’t change the fact of what he said.
If you think they are anti-gay fine. Then list your reasons.
·
@13 — Right, because all other cars are free.
·
It was nice seeing the GM Renaissance center lit up with pride during motor city pride! Thanks for the support GM!
·
Cute ad. Hope that they run this in Canada.
·
So glad I only buy GM. Can’t wait till the Cadillac ATS comes out…so to speak. I know Michael Moore would have a fit over this, but I blame President Reagan over GM for Flint’s miseries.
·
Hah, I kind of like that. It’s a nice, simple, clean fun advert. Watch One Million Morons go batshit about it in 3… 2… 1…
