Karl Lagerfeld, always one to sink his fangs into the hottest, latest, newest and youngest thing floating about the pop culture zeitgeist, has set his shades on out R&B singer/rapper Frank Ocean.
According to MTV Style, Ocean performed an intimate set at the Paris launch of Lagerfeld’s book/traveling museum exhibit with former Vogue Paris editrix Carine Roitfeld, The Little Black Jacket.
Karl and Carine captured ultrachic celebrities and fashion notables wearing Chanel’s iconic article for the project, which kicked off in Tokyo in April, where the designer’s other queer hip hop hero, Azealia Banks performed.
MTV Style reports:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Karl stood on couches (ZUT ALORS!) at the Parisian venue alongside model Anja Rubik and Theophilus London (both of whom appear in the book) while Frank crooned a live rendition of “Lost” from his Channel Orange album. It looks like Frank even got a little face time with Uncle Karl behind the scenes. Do we smell a new Lagerfeld muse??
Uncle Karl changes muses more often than he changes his facial expression (which, granted, is not that often) but Ocean’s love of a headband and a statement shirt should endear him to the Kaiser.
