When we first saw the cover of the new issue of Candy, a the daring trans style bible, we thought it was Alison Goldfrapp or Florence Welch. It wasn’t until we read the description that we realized it was the very divine Tilda Swinton (Chronicles of Narnia, Orlando).
The ginger Amazon appears in a feature for “The Extra Extravagance Issue,” styled by Jerry Stafford and photographed by Xevi Muntane. Other photo features include a pregnant-male-model spread and lanky boys in dresses.
Past issues of Candy have featured James Franco and Chloe Sevigny in drag.

SHE ROCKS HARD!and just as an aside, a friend, who knew her years ago, says she is one of the nicest people he’s known.. which is quite a compliment.

Candy has zero to do with any part of the trans community. If anything, it’s about thoughtlessly appropriating trans people’s experiences for a bunch of fashion whores and cis gay men. I like Tilda Swinton, she’s a wonderful actress, but the concept of female-assigned-at-birth doing femme drag is boring and NOT in any way challenging to society (yes, Ana Matronic, that means you too). To call this a “trans bible” is just being clueless.

Never read the mag, so I can’t judge, but Tilda Swinton is beautiful! I loved her in Constantine playing the angel Gabriel, and if she had dick I’d let her have me in a second; hell, I’d hop on her in a second even though she doesn’t!

@Ginasf: I think/hope there’s more to it than that. What about sexual fluidity? What about androgyny? Maybe they are trying to subvert the binary-gender system that clearly doesn’t work in favor of something looser and freer?
Just putiin it out there….

Here, here for androgeny! Best of both worlds and all that, makes me glad to swing both ways!

Tilda Swinton is amazingly hot and fierce, and kills it at everything she does!
