Who chose these pictures? I’m just wondering why they decided to advertise this book with only gay men, even though this book says it has gay and lesbian couples, and why did they choose only white couples?

Might want to change the “pubic” approval to public.

I will never understand why people (gay or straight) decide to have their most personal and special days publicized for strangers to see. Oh, that’s right. They need attention and validation.

@stranded: because it is a white world reported on by white media for the entertainment of white people….people of color are invisible and insignificant .

Here we are approaching marriage acceptance across this country and we are nitpicking and bitching about the marriages photos. My gosh, we are as bad as the hater and bigots against us. Why not celebrate anything that shows we are making strides forward instead of targeting anything that does not fit our sensibilities? As in Queerty, fantastic photos, great looking couples, thanks for showing us their happiness on their special day. Then graciously ask, Any chance to see women and other races on their special day? Sometimes I fear the worst that is against us is us.

Yay for same sex marriage but wish I could see people of colors in it. They are deserve to be recognized as these guys on this article too. We are human too u know.

I’m like so many of the other commentators here. Cute pictures but the selection for this article is definitely slanted toward white male couples. More diverse pictures would promote the book much better.

I’m pretty sick of hearing that when someone points out the obvious about the lack of diversity they are seen as complaining. It is pretty easy to say “lighten up” when the faces being represented most of the time look like yours. The fact is that the face of the gay movement is a white one and gays of color have never really been accepted into that movement. Talking about race and r*cism in the gay community shouldn’t be such a bitchfest, but when the faces are overwhelming white and male you have to expect that the gays of color are going to take issue. Many of us feel left out of the movement and the race issue in the gay community is a problem that people just want to sweep under the rug and pretend doesn’t exist.

Yes the pictures are beautiful and you aren’t going to appease everyone in every article and every photo series. But good lord, not one lesbian couple or couple of color??!! I call BS.

OMG is there an off switch somewhere?? I’m pretty sick of seeing non stop complaints about lack of diversity where there’s plenty. There are currently 5 posts completely devoted to people of color on the 1st page alone – Cuban TG, Rupaul, Louis Smith, Moises Garcia & details for that Chocolate City movie. There’s also two thumbs featuring interracial couples (see A New Era and Rumor Has It). Whoopi Goldburg is a feature in another piece, and I can’t even count how many Michael Sams features there have been lately. There IS a good amount of diversity here. This site is mostly white and gay, so lesbians and color aren’t gonna be a part of EVERY feature.

@Blackceo: U might wanna try Rod 2.0 or MOC blog for your color quota, or head over to After Ellen for your lesbian concerns. You could even create your own blog where you can decide what’s posted and how it looks…..
