Queerty is better as a member
AC is a notorious bigot and chicken-hawk…he had to be forced(via a lawsuit) to let African-Americans model for his company…..
To be fair, I think he’s straight up African from that name. Nigerian maybe.
As balehead says, AC doesn’t have the best history on racial issues.
The model is gorgeous. Thanks for featuring him. Perhaps Queerty will decide to feature beautiful models like Cheddy Oakafor without any promo for particular companies, like you do when you focus on beards or gingers or men reading, etc.?
To be fair, there are quite a few second generation Africans born in the US. A LOT. Among Nigerian Americans (who can call themselves African-Americans too), they include rappers Chamillionaire, Tyler the Creator and Wale, NBA basketball players Emeka Okafor and Andre Iguodala, NFL football players Brandon Ayanbadejo (and his brother) and Usi Umenyiora.
(Actually there are a huge number of Nigerian Americans in the NFL, actors Gbenga Akinnagbe (from The Wire), and so on. So a Nigerian name doesn’t mean the person isn’t born in the US.
Should have ended:
(Actually there are a huge number of Nigerian Americans in the NFL.) Also, actors like Gbenga Akinnagbe (from The Wire), and Adepero Oduye (in Pariah and Twelve Years a Slave) and so on. So a Nigerian name doesn’t mean the person isn’t born in the US or African American.
@Kangol: I didn’t say he wasn’t born in the US. I just said he may be straight up African as opposed to African-American. To be fair, there are in some cases up to 400 years difference between the two cultures.
I thought I needed glasses. Andrew Christian discovered that Black people exist? Must have had a suit like the one against Abercrombie all those years ago. I am proud to have been part of that FORCED change.
@balehead: oh so thats the reason. When I noticed this on the newsletter I suddenly took notice…HURRAY HURRAY they have a black model. I was so surprised i saved the damn newsletter. Thanks for the info. I dont know what those boys at AC think but frankly I took notice when he modeled the underwear. Because of him I will actually wear one.

That blurb is clearly the setup to an interview … and then there’s no interview posted, and not even a link to the interview on The Underwear Expert’s site. This seems to have been happening a lot lately on Queerty. We appreciate the great photos, but if you want us to find out more about him, tell us or link us!
@GermanPenguin: Why does it matter?
Actually I think he’s recently arrived from Africa. He smuggled an elephant in his pants.
I’m starting to wonder if Queerty gets paid money to write about AC so much
Whoopee Queerty? and The Underwear Expert?,
Andrew Christian?’s racism FINALLY has a Black model. It took him long enough to realize he was based in the color and ethnic melting pot of America. But I wonder is this piece just an attempt to counter how many people been enlightened by all that I’ve said about Andrew Christian over time? For in his videos, Andrew Christian has on occasion had a Black model, but the Black model is NEVER one of the FEATURED models. Either way, it’s too little, too late.
For Andrew Christian should have remembered he was based in America from the very beginning. The fact we have to tell Andrew Christian to acknowledge the Black population’s existence is why I refuse to acknowledge his existence. So I boycott his and many other brands of underwear. I’ve gotten a couple of pairs of his underwear as giveaways at events. I used them to clean my toilet. Especially, after I’ve been ill.
