Old school meets new school once a week at Sunday Service, the midtown party at Sankey’s NYC. In this week’s Palm Sunday Service, the club kids came together to celebrate the birthday of Grammy Award-winning DJ Hex Hector. Hector began his career as a DJ at 14, when he formed a hip hop group called Little Man Crew. He broke into the industry when he worked on a remix for Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam and hit it big in 1996 when he remixed Toni Braxton’s “Un-Break My Heart,” which became one of the top dance hits of the year. He won his Grammy Award for Remixer of the Year for a remix of Spice Girl Melanie C’s single “I Turn to You.”

DJ Escape, joined by Hector himself, set the tone for the evening at Sunday Service while nightlife personalities Dina Marie, Brandon Voss, Antonio Cedeno, Alan Picus, Brian Rafferty, Justin Luke, Kenny Kenny, Marco Ovando, and Patrick Crough mingled with the crowd. Susanne Bartsch curated a special installment of her infamous Glass Box with live strip teases throughout the evening.
