PARTY HAUS

PHOTOS: Fire Island Boys Get Into The Olympic Spirit At The Pines Party

Photoblogger Jeffrey James Keyes hit the beach this weekend for the 14th annual Pines Party out on Fire Island.  Held at night on Pines Beach, the party is always a mixture of revelry, fantasy and fundraising. (Proceeds benefit Fire Island Pines Property Owners’ Association and the Stonewall Community Foundation.) While past themes at the Pines Part have included Poseidon, The Big Top, and Heavenly Bodies, this year was a shout out to the Summer Games—With plenty of scantily clad athletic supporters working it out in various pavilions, it was definitely more on-point than the opening ceremonies in London.

Music from DJs Pagano, Abel, Randy Bettis and Warren Gluck played until the sun crept up over the Atlantic, when then torch was extinguished and the crowd bid a fond farewell to a beloved diva as we were serenaded with Donna Summer‘s “Last Dance.”
