Queerty/GayCities photoblogger Jeffrey James Keyes caught up with director Tony Speciale at Classic Stage Company, where he was invited backstage to take pictures of boys of Unnatural Acts getting into makeup and goofing off before the show. It was all quite natural, but Unnatural Acts is inspired by horrific events that took place at Harvard University in the spring of 1920, when a student’s suicide sparked a campus-wide witch hunt to purge the school of homosexuals. Actors Jess Burkle, Joe Curnutte, Frank De Julio, Roe Hartrampf, Roderick Hill, Max Jenkins, Brad Koed, Jerry Marsini, Devin Norik, Will Rogers, and Nick Westrate make up the dynamic ensemble that has brought audiences to their feet. Unnatural Acts runs through July 24. Tickets are available at the Classic Stage Company website.

Frank:
It had been a while and I was suffering from endofseasonitis.
Of course, I saw Unnatural Acts. And I believe I met you while talking to Tony after the play.
Congratulations to all the writers and actors for the Drama Desk recognition!
Great seeing you on Blue Bloods recently, too!
All the best,
Ellis
