Tony Award Winner Laura Benanti joined a number of singers for the benefit concert Broadway Battles Bullying in support of the new Michael Morones Foundation last Monday. The event was hosted by Shakina Nayfack at New York University’s Skirball Center for the Peforming Arts, and featured performances by Robin de Jesus, Todd Buonopane, Natalie Joy Johnson, Telly Leung, Mykal Kilgore, Stephen Wallem and opera luminary Joyce DiDonato.

Morones is the 11-year-old boy from North Carolina who attempted to hang himself from his bunk bed on January 23, after being bullied by classmates because of his love of My Little Pony. The Michael Morones Foundation works to ensure children they are loved while providing them with support and the necessary skills to enjoy a successful life.
