PHOTOS: Madonna Joins Stars Of W.E. At Film’s NYC Premiere

She might not be eligible for an Oscar for Best Song, but Madonna was all smiles last night at the star-studded premiere of her new film, W.E., at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York. ( The film, which looks at the relationship between abdicated British king Edward VIII and American socialite Wallis Simpson, opens in select cities on February 3.)

Joining the singer/actress/director/author/goddess was the film’s stars— Andrea Riseborough, James D’Arcy, Oscar Isaac and David Harbour—plus Ewan McGregor, Julia Stiles, Lady Bunny, Carson Kressley and other special guests.

We can’t decide if we like Madge’s Mae West meets Cruella deVille look. What’s your take on it? Let us know in the comments.

“abdicated king” ? That doesn’t make sense.
      Also, it was Edward VIII.
