We love President Obama for all that he’s done for the gay community, but he almost undid all that good will yesterday when his little press conference preempted (at least here on the East Coast) a sizzling bedroom scene between Days of Our Lives‘ gay couple Sonny and Will (a.k.a soap studs Freddie Smith and Chandler Massey).
Fortunately the Internet exists and we were able to find a clip of the encounter online. And celebrity-skin hound SuperheroFan (who provided the photo gallery below) gives it the best recap we could ask for:
It was AMAZING! Long, sensual kisses… both guys shirtless in bed for the afterglow… It’s just amazing that this, little conservative soap is just going balls to the wall with their gay storyline. The “Days of Our Lives” producers deserve all the awards!
If this doesn’t earn the show a GLAAD Media Award, nothing will!

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Mittens would have blocked this and cut their hair!! lol!

It’s a beautiful scene. And it will probably be even more talked about since it was blocked. Thanks for sharing.

WOW… hard to believe that they are both straight guys… They seemed very comfortable… VERY HOTT!

Good for Days. You know,I’ve been doubtful hearing about Days’ gay storline, assuming they’d make it a watered down, non sensual, sexless “friendship” type relationship. But wow, they’ve done a great job. And those actors? Oh lawd have mercy, they are hot!

The Days writers have done a good job developing the storyline, albeit it moved painfully slow for some of us. But, I understand why since Days had to cover every angle of homophobia and also cover Will’s own maturing. Will’s dad seems to be the holdout homophobe.
I just hope that Days doesn’t mess it up… or break them up. We need to see a young gay relationship developing and lasting until a 100% legal MARRIAGE. That would be true progress on Days considering that many TV shows and soaps have had gay characters for years. Now we need to see a gay couple, married, as major characters on a mainstream soap. It’s about time. Then, let them have some cute kids, a house like ever other main couple on soaps, etc. Sort of a Neil Patrick Harris / David Burtka story but add the legal marriage.

p.s. Days brought me back because of this storyline. So, Days is getting some viewers back because of this. Now, Days just needs to tone down the silly and over-the-top drama that we still get from soaps. Time to get a bit more serious and put away the unrealistic drama that turns many of us off… a lot.

Great job on this. Watched it on SoapNet…when I saw pic#8, the thighs…I was shocked.
Loved it. Both so cute. Nothing beats OLTL’s gay duo…but this went further.
Kudos.

The earliest TV memory I have is coming home after morning kindergarten or something and my mom was watching Days on our big console TV. Doug and Julie on blue sheets, basking in the afterglow, and Julie saying something about ‘our sex life.’ So I had to ask my mom what a sex life was…she didn’t even realize the TV was on haha This is WAY sexier though!

Tits is the next step. Get them out, ladies. Gay sex is so passe. I want to see a transgendered woman take it doggy-style on Days.

@Loise, you make $27h…good for you! I make up to $85h working from home. My story is that I quit working at shoprite to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $45h to $85h…heres a good example of what i’m doing, cloud68 DOtcom

Will and Sonny are the best gay characters a daytime drama has ever given its viewers. I think I’ve seen them all (Nuke/Ruke, Gay Billy, Hank Elliott, Kish). I was afraid when DOOL got this latest raft of writers that they’d marry Will and Sonny off, letting them ride off into the sunset, like when Gay Billy left Llanview for Yale. Or else destroying them the way CBS did Reid Oliver (someone at ATWT really hated that show and its viewers).
My feelings are mixed, of course, over the storyline that’s going to keep at least Will in Salem in the near longterm, this juxtaposition of “Gabi Is Pregnant” with “Will and Sonny Sitting in a Tree…” If she’s smart, i.e., she does what I think she should do, Gabi will let Nick think he’s the father, let Will move on domestic bliss as half of WilSon, and it can all come tumbling down in a “Who’s the Daddy?” three sweeps (nine months) from now (by which time everyone except Will and Gabi will forget that it couldn’t’ve been Nick.
I’m not a DOOL watcher, but my soap sense tells me Sami will get in there and ruin things for Will somehow, someday.
FTR, I wish Will and E.J. could have been the happy couple (WeeJay?). Chandler Massey and James Scott have more chemistry with each other than any other pair of actors I’ve observed on this show.
While I’m at it, does anyone else think Rafe is either the most boring character, or is played by the most boring actor, in the history of television, any daypart? Does one or the other have some kind of disability whereby it hurts him to talk?
