Over the weekend the guys from the trans-culture magazine Original Plumbing transported themselves from NYC to Boston to host a sweaty, queer dance party in Jamaica Plain (you know JP, it’s that neighborhood where the queer Bostonions live). This is the second time this summer OP has taken an event to the Midway Cafe, and the first time they’ve invited cult favorite Nicky Click—the one woman powerhouse of high femme performative genius and madness—for a 3-song show between sets by DJ D’hana Perry and DJ JUSTINCREDIBLE. Blinding the audience with neon wigs, Click performed a few songs before exiting the stage where she then secretly conducted a mannequin-themed photo shoot in the basement of the club. ewwwwwww way too many androgynous/femmey Trans”men” there for my taste.
Sorry ladies, you can pretend that you’re “men” all you want but you never will be.
JP is NOT the place in Boston where the most GLBT people are, the authors need to get their facts straight.
I agree with rascal, this looks like a party kids in highschool have in their parents’ basement or house when nobody’s home.

Whoah, I’m surprised that ‘James’ hasn’t been flagged yet. Arguing about which gayborhood in Boston is queerer is one things, but openly expression such a hateful attitude toward transmen on queerty is fucked up. The worst sort of ostensibly queer people are the sort who need to police other queer peoples’ gender and/or sex. Love and appreciate other people for being whatever gender lets them love themselves and others the most.

So I flipped through the photos to see all the “femme/trans “men” and what was interesting to me is that you, James think you can tell who is trans or not. I think you might want to question your assumptions a bit. I was at the party and most of the guys pictured here who are “femme” are all cis gendered. Are you perhaps a self-hating femme? Why do you care who is femme or not? You may not like transmen, (which is the most absurd thing, to dislike an entire group of people), but they are men. @James:

Looks like a party I had in my parents basement in 1976.
