Sirdeaner Walker, whose 11-year-old boy Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover killed himself in April 2009 after suffering anti-gay taunts at school, might know a little bit more about GLSEN and LGBT bullying than Tony Perkins. So the Washington Post tries to make good on giving the FRC head space to blame homosexuality for gays killing themselves by letting Sirdeaner respond. All of Perkins’ religious-based arguments are, says Sirdeaner, “wrong.” And yet the Post gave him plenty of space to spread the type of misleading rhetoric that lets parents excuse bullying.

Um, sorry, but I saw this kid’s sister on AC360 and the ONLY comment she made was that her brother wasn’t a fag. Is this honestly the family that needs to be lecturing anyone on bullycide when it’s obvious, IMO, the kid had ZERO support at home if he was a homosexual???

@McMike: Well, his mum is obviously supporting him now. Just out of curiosity, what age is his sister? I’m not american so I’ve only heard about him and his mum, but anyone who thinks that religion hasn’t been the cause of antigay feeling for centuries needs to check their facts.
