Poll Shows Iowa Voters Ready to Support Legal Recognition of Same-Sex Couples

A Battleground Poll shows a majority of Iowans support some form of legal recognition for gay couples. While support for gay marriage hovers at only 28%, another 30% support civil unions. The Iowa Supreme Court begins hearing on a gay marriage case Dec. 9th. The poll found that if the court were to rule in favor of same-sex marriages, support for both marriages and unions would increase slightly. [Newswire]
