@fredo777: Yep. All candy-coated artless garbage designed to do nothing but be sold to an undiscerning, apathetic audience with disposable income. Oh, make no mistake – it has a valid place in terms of being disposable pop culture, but pretending it’s anything more than that is just as absurd as trying to claim one is better than the other.

@boring: That is a steaming pile of bullshit. Just because an artist is popular/has some top 40 hits does not make them equally talented (or untalented) as every other person who happens to be a pop singer/band + to broad-brush an entire group like that is as elitist as it is bogus. Not to mention, Boyz II Men are not even pop as much as they are R + B. Justin Bieber is not anywhere near their league.

Basically, it’s peddling to mostly middle aged women so they can feel nostalgic for youth gone by.

BOY, THAT JUSTIN BIEBER SURE IS TERRIBLE WITH MUSIC, RIGHT FELLAS? (Posts about New Kids on the Block/Boyz II Men/98 Degrees without a shred of irony or self-awareness)
