Before the big ball drops, Queerty is taking a look back at one of the most bizarre years in all things gay. Forget Osama Bin Laden’s death and Beyonce’s baby bump—2011 will always be remembered as the year Chris Crocker got hot. The year that Don Lemon came out. The year that twinks with gay pasts took over MTV. (And we’re not even talking about Taylor Lautner—who made the list for other reasons).

We’ve compiled the top 10 posts of the year based entirely on that modern-day barometer of popularity, page views! And just like high-school cliques, the most popular posts of 2011 were pretty but not always nice.

      Speaking of porn stars in trouble, Ryan Idol was supposed to have been sentenced for attempted murder on December 9 and there hasn’t been a peep of news about it, if it even happened or was postponed. ??

      Please, Adam Levine, wanting to dress up as a girl is no true indicative of sexual orientation and that is obviously what you are getting at, since two-year-olds can barely form sentences. If you are going to become an advocate, at least do some research.

      On to the good part: Randy really is such an inspiration. This entire story really felt bittersweet and I could perfectly relate (except I found no acceptance from either side… yeah). He looks really happy in his latest video and I truly wish him all the best in this upcoming year.
