Gay Barack Obama supporter Eric Stern took a shot at Hillary Clinton while describing his candidate’s gay press approach: “Obama is talking to mainstream audiences about issues of importance to our community. While Hillary is attractive, she is making her appeal almost exclusively to gay audiences. That is not a postmodern approach.†[Politico]
Now to explain post-modernism to the masses:
From Wiki: postmodernism tends to refer to a cultural, intellectual, or artistic state lacking a clear central hierarchy or organizing principle and embodying extreme complexity, contradiction, ambiguity, diversity, and interconnectedness or interreferentiality
I think that about sums up Obama’s campaign.
It’s nice to have a similarity with someone or their views running for office… however when it comes to voting for someone… I like to think of the main issues before gay issues. Grant you, I would not vote for someone who is OUTright anti-gay… I do not believe in voting for someone… because some celebrity or newspaper endorses a candidate… in my lifetime, I have met as many heterophobics gays as I have met homo-phobic non-gays. What concerns me is the truth before and after an election. Just because I like Hillary does not mean I expect my friends, family or
favorite print media to do likewise. In this coming election… the candidate’s choice for Vice President will be just as important to me as when it comes time to vote for him or her!
Oh Please! Hillary is talking to main stream press and the gay media. Wake up boys and girls, obama ain’t going to do nothing for us! Obama will do no more for gays than McCain!
