Pride Allowed In Poland

After being banned for the last two years, there will be a Pride march in Warsaw on June 10 provided there is also a “nationalist” march in another part of town on the same day. We actually think that having two marches is a good idea, because it will hopefully draw some of the hatemongers away from the action, and everybody knows that the gay parade will be more colorful and interesting for the media to cover anyway.

The only reason the march is happening is because the rest of the European Union has been pressuring Polish Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz to stop villifying the gay community, but maybe if they keep on this track, Poland can eventually be bumped off of the Top 10 worst countries for gays list, which would certainly help the mental well-being of gay Polish citizens. Tourism is another story.
