I’m bisexual and out; but it’s just an aspect of who I am, not the most important thing and not the defining thing of who I am as a person. The majority of gay and bi men I know feel the same way about being gay or bi, even the ones that are or were big into going to pride parades are like this.

I’m with you. It’s a non-issue to me. Whatever I achieve has zip to do with being gay. Am I expected to qualify accomplishments with “despite being gay” or “Glücklich, gay ______…”? Accomplishments are what I choose to take pride in, and to be clear, my *not* taking pride in being gay does not equate to being ashamed of it. Like right- or left-handedness, it just *is*.
All that said, sure, I feel like I’m living the dream. I’d like more vacation time but it’s on me to take it. And I’d like to buy a house but I’m waiting for something to open up in a nearby building and I like my apartment just fine.

I understand that queerty fucks up repeatedly and etc but are there people really arguing about the photos that anonymous people are using along with whatever message they want people to know. I do understand the annoyance of the misrepresentation of gay men through the over use of young white male models or young white men that are deemed to be attractive to socetial standards and how queerty seems to be obsessed with pushing this idea.
Think the biggest issue with these gay outlets is how the diversity of the lgbt population is not represented and only a few that are deemed worthy are. It seems like an intentional attempt to create hostility among a population that I’d already feeling hostile from the world around it that has rejected them for being different from what is deemed the norm. Think that queerty should recognize its responsibility since it represents the lgbt population. People come here to see themselves and what they can relate to. Not just the experience from a few. Think that people are just fed up of being excluded or told what being gay is like by other gay people who ate only invested in themselves and want a diverse popularoom yo be a monolithic.

Neither Miss Hathaway nor Mrs. Drysdale have much to worry about it seems.
