Pro-Russia Right Wingers Lose Senate Space For Symposium, Thanks To A Republican

U.S. Capitol buildingThe World Congress of Families, an group that thinks importing Putin-style homophobia is just what the U.S. needs, had been planning to hold a symposium espousing its offensive views in, of all places, official U.S. Senate space. Now the group won’t be holding their meeting in the Capitol after all. Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois has canceled the group’s access, effectively killing the event. A spokesman for Kirk said that the senator “does not affiliate with groups that discriminate.”

Just to prove Kirk’s point, Larry Jacobs, managing director of the World Congress of Families, responded with a frothing-at-the-mouth howl. “Obviously Senator Kirk doesn’t care about families and children and freedom and has chosen to side with the policies of decline, death and disease promoted by the Sexual Radicals,” Jacobs complained in an email to Buzzfeed.

By contrast, the World Congress of Families has chosen to side with the politics of skinheads, thugs, and homewreckers.

The World Congress of Families will feel a lot more at home in the Kremlin, which happens to be where its 2014 conference will be held. How convenient.
