This was a weak episode of PR… I think Dimitri’s outfit, while not especially ‘avante garde’ was the only one I could even imagine wanting to wear. Christopher’s outfit looked worse (and less original) than Sonjia’s. The black feathers on the shoulder… the lousy fit in front, the stupid goth/steampunk cliche accessorizing? Avant garde? Too bad I’m almost certain he’s going to be the season winner because he really doesn’t deserve it.
If you look at the PR final collections for Fashion Week, two of the eliminated contestants had way better collections than the finalists. I thought Elena’s (whatever else you thought about her) was the best with Gunner’s a close second. Since you can be the 6th to the last person eliminated and still show at fashion week, it really doesn’t matter (apart from tv exposure) whether you’re the 6th to last or the runner up… you win zero money. It’s time PR gives bigger rewards to the other finalists.

So, L’Oreal is giving the winner $100,000, and collaboration and plugging the product “doesn’t sit right” with you? Get over it.
On a separate note, I hated Dmitry’s. It’s nothing but a 1980s power suit with a dumb looking neck piece added on to make it look avant garde.

Wow that’s the avant garde challenge? I remember in former seasons, it was the challenge I looked forward to the most because the gowns were all interesting, even the ones that looked like a hot mess and got the contestants sent home. All of those are safe and boring though. Dmitry’s dress looks like something Pam from True Blood would wear.

Dmitry’s was something I would expect to see as ‘futuristic’ in a 1990′s sci-fi show on Fox. The front from below the neck was great. The arms and the neck? meh
Melissa’s dress was really interesting WITHOUT the green top. Otherwise, it was good but not great.
Fabio’s looked like the cursed lady-in-waiting who works for the Enchanted Queen. It looked dowdy.
Christopher’s dress would have looked better if he did the detailing on the front like it was on the back. Heidi needs to tell him “next time, the show really is ‘down here’”
Sonjia was a wasted opportunity. At least she did not complain to the judges about her gold fabric going missing.
After all that, I think Dmitry will take the prize. His superior construction skills will win the judges over when he has time to put a look together rather than throw it together for a challenge. Christopher could be the spoiler.
