Activists hoping to overturn California's gay marriage ruling have raised about $18 million, about four million more than their opponents. According to recent Field Poll, however, the "Yes on 8" crowd is about 20 percentage points behind pro-gay voters: "…38 percent of likely voters backed the initiative, while 55 percent opposed it. Polls released shortly after the California Supreme Court ruled in May that same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry found that voters were nearly equally divided on the issue at that point, polls showed.". All this money being raised…I'd like to see a breakdown of how it was all spent. I mean they've done ONE tv commercial, and it can't cost that much to put a few opinion pieces online or in a newspaper. Where is that $18mil going?
I guess I could say the same about our side…but we've clearly been doing more to oppose the Proposition than they have to talk people into voting for it.

REBELCdmx – knowing how these right wing sky pixie worshippers function, no doubt the money has been pocketed to provide certain individuals with luxurious lifestyles.

Hey, that's a great idea to become rich! Why didn't I think of it???

Don't get complacent in looking at the poll numbers. I never feel comfortable regarding gay equal rights legislation until the pro-gay numbers are at 60%. Research has shown that some people do hold beliefs they are embarrassed/afraid to tell others of, so they will tell a pollster one thing and do something else in the privacy of the voting booth. You can never have too much money in these campaigns, as you have to remember that your opposition may believe they are on a mission from God to defeat you. They will change their spending habits in order to send money to support their side. Are you willing to go that far?

At least the "No on 8" commercial is nice. A pleasant looking grandparently couple talking about their kids against pretty lighting and green growing things,
The "Yes on 8" commercial has angry sour-faced people in suits screaming about their rights being taken away, with graphs and charts.
They ran the two back-to-back one night, it was amusing to compare the two.

As KSU said, people often vote in polls in a way that makes them appear less "bigoted", while they might get into the actual voting booth + support Prop 8.

Vote, vote, vote no on 8 + tell others who live in Cali to do the same.
