The Strauss v. Horton decision did not specifically address Prop. 8's effect on out-of-state marriages entered into before November 5th. You can definitely expect to see some lawsuits by the bigot crowd over that one (they will lose, but it will be there). If I understood correctly, this would also allow couples who got married in other jurisdictions BEFORE November 5th to have the actual full marriages recognized in California, just like the Cali couples who were married before November 5th. What it amounts to: California 'mos can register their relationship as Domestic Partnership, getting all - actually most - of the state-granted rights, responsibilities that non-'mos can get by getting "Married". The legislation, in essence, would treat a legal marriage granted to 'mos in a jurisdiction other than California as a DP under California law. The reporting on this is terrible. What it amounts to:
