"hell will freeze over now before they will be trusted by the T community,"

Okay. Don't trust them. Walk away. They have shown no leadership for the Armenian Community or the Tibetian community either. They are a non-governmental, voluntary organization working to ban employment discrimination against gays and lesbians. You have other issues you think are more important (Iraq, the environment, Trans rights, abortion rights, etc) go work with groups that share your agenda.

I have nothing to do with HRC, but I'm not out stalking them.

Get this: HRC's JOE SOLMONESE DELIBERATELY LIED TO 1000 T PEOPLE IN ATLANTA IN SEPTEMBER 2007.

It happened. He can't deny it. You can't deny it. We can't forget it. It is our Alamo. It creates a problem: we can never believe HRC again. It isn't just 1 lie, it is a decade and a half of lies.

The demonstration in Houston was 11 people. It was greeted with mounted police and a phalanx of cops and rentacops. Clear, blatant intimidation.

HRC has never been the friend of the transgender community, and hell will freeze over now before they will be trusted by the T community, to do anything other than screw us and screw up in general. Worse, now, after this abuse at the Houston dinner, as well as a similar abuse at an event in Atlanta, more and more creative ways to protest and disrupt HRC dinners will be attempted, across the country. HRC asked for war, with the response to the Houston dinner, as well as their responses to past protests, and war they shall receive. All we asked for is the chance to educate and show how we have been wronged in the past, and all we got was jerked around.

I'm delighted myself that queerty has a proactivist stance, even if the information is confused.
I think that there is decidedly a special corner of hell reserved for those who remain indifferent when human values are on the line.

Given the frightning state of America today, I would rather see people err on the side of excess than lazyness. If any of the founding fathers was to see the state of things in America, nobody would be sitting on thier tired fannys waiting for ... how bad do things have to get?
Thanks Queerty!

Funny when the gays turn on each other. Could be a pretty funny movie, like one of those Christopher Guest movies where no one understands how ridiculous they are.

Excellent post, Leland. I don't think highly of HRC. So you know what, I don't send them money or participate in their activities. I certainly don't feel compelled to drag my tired ass downtown and protest them. The sick-o types that hate HRC but just can't walk away remind me of a guy I turned down for a date and became a stalker. Mentally ill.

As explained in a later thread from which I quote below [and commend Queerty for publishing] the FACTS are quite different than apparently purposely misrepresented by one of Bilerico's most advanced cases of Mad Tranny Disease. There are some great contributors there but they are vastly outnumbered [out-screamed] by the Tranninazis.

Contrary to the propaganda and cooked numbers of ENDA INSANE, there are many of us who both hate HRC generally for what it's become AND disagree with the histrionic hissy fits of the lunatic fringe like the scribbler of the sourced article. If the latter and her fellow Tranny thugs had their way, Pennsylvania Avenue, Castro Street, and Greenwich Village would be lined with crosses bearing those who have been crucified upside down for having dared disagree with their political suicide position. Barney Frank's would also, no doubt, be set on fire.

From HRC:

"The fact is that the standard procedure is when we are notified of a protest, then it is our obligation to notify the hotel/venue. The hotel/venue then takes the necessary precautions to make sure their guests are safe and that any protests happening outside of their property is also done so in a safe manner. One of those precautionary steps that the hotel/venue takes is to notify the local police department. This was done in DC, NYC, and Philadelphia previously without any problems, complaints, or conspiracy theories.

So, with all that being said we are looking forward to a great Houston dinner which will be attended by the Mayor of Houston. And was the case at previous dinners, those who want to wear their stickers and stand in protest will be more than welcome to do so."

CitizenGeek, there are plenty of organizations doing as much or more for LGBT rights in the country. You just don't hear about them because HRC is the WalMart of the activist groups - one stop shopping and a marketing budget that can crush the competition or anyone who comes too close to "their territory."

Certainly, the contributions of PFLAG, Lambda Legal, NCLR, GLAAD (maybe more historically than currently), the Task Force, Pride at Work, the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Out & Equal, The Equality Forum, ACLU, the Trevor Project, and many many others can't be dismissed as "less than" the contributions of HRC, just different and less visible.

Old joke my grandmother Sophie used to tell: Two Bolsheviks sitting on a park bench in St. Petersburg. One says to the other "So what did you think of that totally spontaneous demonstration against the Czar last night?" The other says "Shhh. You fool. The spontaneous demonstration against the Czar is tomorrow night!"

hahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Well, it funnier than the rubbish here.

What Eli said.

I mean, come on. Joe Solomonese may be a twat, but Queerty is clearly out of line for ranking on him about something that hasn't even happened.

April 12 is TOMORROW, and this isn't just a typo either. The event hasn't happened yet! I looked it up! Your anti-HRC agenda is transparent and misguided. This looks to me like you're trying to raise your own profile by slandering HRC.
