Queen Latifah Bobs, Weaves Gay Questions

Super superstar Queen Latifah had an eye-opening interview in last month’s Glamour. While shooting the shit, Latifah said she’s not sure gay marriage should be called marriage. “People think of marriage bas something that is between a man and a woman, because it was created by God.” The renaissance woman also said the persistent gay rumors haven’t fucked her game.

The issue came up again in this month’s Ebony. Latifah may claim to be confident in her sexuality, but her responses say otherwise.

In an effort to clarify her Glamour responses, Dallas Voice‘s Daniel Kusner lobbed some questions at Latifah.

They didn’t stick…

From Dallas Voice:

DK: Did you know that when states prohibit gays to marry, it can threaten same-sex coupes being protected by domestic violence laws?

QL: I didn’t know that.

DK: How do you feel about the statements you made in Glamour magazine?

Publicist: Daniel, do you mind if we just, uh, umm, skip to the next person And we’ll come back to this?

DKlove for her to just crank this one out.

QL: If you want, we can sit down and talk about this when I get there.

DK: You can’t do it now?

QL: I just think it needs its own attention.

Publicist: I would just like everyone else to have time for their questions. So Im sorry, were going to need to move to [the next journalist].

DK: So, you’re passing on me, Queen Latifah?

QL: I’m not passing on the whole topic, but I will say this: I do support anyone who wants to be married, and I support gays and lesbians having the same rights as anyone else. So no, I don’t agree that gays and lesbians should not be protected against domestic violence, and to even try to goad me into, um, condoning something like that I think is kind of a shallow move on your behalf.

Kusner tried three more times to get a straight answer, but to no avail.

Meanwhile, the Ebony piece also delves in Latifah’s bedroom, but Latifah ain’t biting. When asked if she’s dating her female trainer, the usually warm celebrity goes cold:

No comment on that at all. I’m done commenting on all that…It’s ridiculous, I know me and that’s all I need to know.

And if the readers don’t know me, then that;s one part they aren’t going to get to know. Those are my people but they don’t sleep with me

“No comment”? You know what that means: total queen.
