The Trials and Tribulations of Teri Yale
Woman Faces Anti-Gay Boycott for Helping Gay Teens

Michflag.jpg
We've just received an email from Scott, the self-proclaimed Gay Guru urging us to post a story on Teri Yale. Just who is Teri Yale? Well, we'll tell you...

A Mason, MI mother of three Ms. Yale runs a record story called Davey's Basement, through which she helped sponsor Mason High School's Gay Straight Alliance. It seems peeps in Mason weren't so keen on her homo-friendly philanthropic ways and have since turned their backs on her business. Yale elaborates in an interview over at My Gay Guru:

Basically our local customers stopped coming in. Our sales dropped 86%. We didn't even make expenses.... We [had] one man come in the next day after the parade and ask what the GSA stood for. When I told him...he said that he doesn't shop at Target since the support "the gays". He didn't return to our store for almost a month. He used to come in on a daily basis.

If we lived in TV land, the kids would come together to not only convince the townspeople they were wrong, but would throw a huge benefit to help Yale recoup her losses. Unfortunately, we don't live in TV land, so it's basically up to concerned homos and their allies.

Why not head on over to My Gay Guru, give the interview a read and do your part to help out. You can start by buying us some CDs. Oh, and maybe a DVD...

I didn't see her on the HRC list? Are we suppose to support her or not?

I bought a T-shirt from Davey's, it should be arriving in a couple of days.

They were definitely super nice after I sent them a supportive e-mail.
