Alexis Taking Trans Struggle To Silver Screen
Debuts Transitory Doco At Tribeca

arquettetribeca.jpg
Alexis Arquette's never been accused of being a wallflower. And she definitely made an impression yesterday when she arrived at the press conference for her Tribeca documentary, Alexis Arquette She's My Brother. Sporting an animal print dress, the blond actress and Hollywood royal posed for photographers, laughing, "Are you ready for me?" We were born ready. Arquette, on the other hand: not ready to be a boy.

Thus, the 36-year old transformed herself into a woman, a year-and-a-half transitory journey documented in the film. Though willing to capture her emotional transition, Arquette's not about to reveal all her secret.

It got to the point when I wasn't willing to answer the questions about hormones, surgeries, or genitalia because it felt like backstepping. It wasn't a subject that needs any more exploitation; it needs clarification.

When asked about what led to her transition, Arquette refuses to get into the essentialist/constructionist debate (that is, gender identity's formed at birth or through external influences):

I don't know why I feel this way. Is me feeling female the same as J.Lo feeling black? I don't know. I don't know why she feels that way.
The details aren't as important as awareness and, of course, acceptance.

As with LA Times jocko-journo, Mike Penner, Arquette's made it her mission to spread the tranny word, thus insuring women such as herself won't sink into the background.

(On a side note: is Arquette not the spitting image of Nicky Hilton?)

To imagine whether or not one's transgendered journey has come to full fruition by surgical correction of a congenital disorder to correct and connect the personality with a new corporeal state of being which are in harmony, together, is of no relevance to any but the person transitioning. They must have your loyal support at any cost... One's presentation and behaviour is the key to that final goal of "INTEGRITY". Ms. Arquette does an admiral job at her female self-presentataion. I wish I were as fortunate as she. If one imagines assuming correctly that a PR stunt is involved in her motivation for public scrutinity, I commend her greatly, for she has proven her skill as an actor most adeptly.

Think, however...and suppose for a moment... Why would anyone publickly go through all the effort to be so lovely a woman if they really aren't one ? Crossdressers too, in their own way celebrate their amiguities, ( If only they would try harder to be more "girly" personality-wise when they don a chic and feminine designer knockoff), and many genetic-women are often said to feel like a "Drag-Queens" at times when scrutinized in the public eye and "ACT" accordingly, female and lovely. So... BRA-Va-Voom Alexis Girlfriend !...with emphasis on the latest VS pushup-over-the-shoulder-bolder-holder, of course !

Girls with "intact-manhood" or not are equally sought out in a market for those with exotic tastes...And... Guess what?... All men are genetically half-female already! Let Alexis be Alexis...she's doing a better job at tasteful chic than most at it !

I would love an autographed, and lipstick-lesbian-kissed 8'' x 11" full-color glossy glammour-shot of Alexis Arquette to frame and hang above my vanity table ! That goes for her entire loyal clan of actor-siblings and in-laws too ! They are all good people...
