AI Singer's Gonna Tell You
And You're Going To Love Her...

LJones1.jpg
While we're on the subject of music, you should really head on over to virtual matter and check out American Idol contestant Lakisha Jones' performance of "And I'm Telling You".

Sure, she may not be the cutest girl in the world, but bitch sure can wail. And she has a little girl. If there's one thing America loves, it's unwed mothers. Right, Fantasia?

(PS: If your eyes aren't too good, maybe you should just head straight to the YouTube video. You can blow it up to full screen and enjoy Jones in all her glory.)

Uh, could you be any more disgusting? First, the woman is attractive. Second, referring to her as a "bitch" seems kinda racist.

Actually, the whole post strikes me as an example of hipster racism: an African-American woman is judged by European beauty standards, referred to as a bitch, and then is topped with "she's also an unwed mother" label. Great way of defining a person.

"But she can sing and some black people do refer to black women as bitches!" the Queerty staff, I would imagine, say in defense. Get this through your heads, calling women "bitch" without cause is just sexist crap and it's always inappropriate.

Most times, I find your attempts at humor funny; but this isn't witty or funny--it's just ignorant.

Meh. She's okay, but I hate the way they edited the song. She was about to blow a vocal cord there. The song can be song without damaging the voice; this girl needs to be taught how.

Oh, and automatically comparing her to Jennifer Hudson? That does a significant disservice to Hudson, Holliday, Penny Mealing, Lillias White...

The AI stylists deserve an Emmy, Lakisha and a few of the other girls looked really amazing compared to their first auditions.

Thanks for the linkage Queerty!

Sorry, still not as good as Ms. Holiday's version. Then again, I give her cred for having the guts to sing this song at all, given that JHud is all over the place at the moment -- kinda like the past seasons when contestants go on the show and try to sing Kelly Clarkson songs -- brave, but not really the smartest move IMHO.
