Blog Spotlight: Paper Magazine

Paper

We love Paper magazine for its unique voice and coverage of the avant-garde and offbeat. We also love Paper’s new look. The magazine and its website has had a recent facelift and we adore it. With the new look Paper has launched three blogs. Shit, we can barely keep up with one.

In a time when most print media is still ignoring blogs, Paper has done the opposite and has embraced them. We have been a fan of theirs from day one.

Our favorite sissy fashion victim Mr. Mickey writes his eponymous blog, “a hodgepodge of inappropriate stuff.” We would expect nothing less from Mickey. His blog obsesses over Fabian Basabe, rent boys, and royal families. Of course we love it.

Paper cofounder Kim Hastreiter writes Fashion Schmashion, their fashion blog. The other cofounder, David Hershkovits, tackles Eye Spy, an exploration into media, Paper style.

While Kim, David, and Mickey are not posting nearly as much as we would like, perhaps, Paper will hire a full time blogger someday soon and take these blogs to the next level. Even if they don’t, seeing a magazine like Paper acknowledge the legitimacy of blogs is a step in the right direction.
