I Will Be Your Wedded Father Figure

20051129_georgemichael.jpg

Always one to steal another's thunder (Andrew Ridgeley, anyone?), George Michael has become the second British pop star to announce that he will be made an honest man out of come next month. Elton John seems to have started a trend.

Since there’s no way in hell Michael and partner Kenny Goss can get hitched in his Goss’ home state of Texas, they’ll instead opt for England where civil unions are legalized next week. So what does the sedate Michael have to say about the giddy Goss?

"I'm not very romantic about it to be honest," he said. "I think Kenny probably would be if I let him, but it's just not me."

Translation? “He’s the woman in the relationship, not me. I have an image to protect, a career to revive!”
