London police are investigating the stabbing death of the gay great-grandson of the famous poet, Alfred Lord Tennyson. Hallam Tennyson, 85, was found stabbed to death in his bed by a former partner last week. Not pretty stuff.

Family members told police that Tennyson invited men back to his apartment up to three times per week. The newspaper reported that a boyfriend has provided investigators with a list of Tennyson's former lovers. "Normally, you worry about your teenage children, but we were worried about him," Tennyson's daughter-in-law Janice told the newspaper. "We are all absolutely devastated. We were all very close to him, particularly our children, who shared with him a love of drama."

Well you don't get much more dramatic than murder. Police are still investigating. Lord Tennyson is most know for his poems “Charge of the Light Brigade” and “In Memoriam” which was written in response to the death of his good friend Arthur Hallum, the namesake of his now departed great-grandson.

Yep. This one's got all the makings of a Geoffrey Rush film.
