Speaking of good old Andrew Sullivan, we were just poking around his blog and came across a post in which one of his readers directs him to this site. On it, one finds a painting entitled, "If My People". At first glance, it appears to be a simple painting of a simple man simply mending the simply tattered American flag.
Look a little closer, however, and you find nine hidden symbols illustrating the following: neglect, warfare, sacrifice, tragedy, evil, hope, life, prayer and, finally, Jesus. Apparently you can tell it's Jesus doing the mending from the nail scar on his hand - you know, because of that whole crucifixion thing.
Sure, some people think Jesus hovers about us all, but we're haunted by those pesky fetuses. We just hear them shrieking: "We'd rather be dead than exploited for so-called artistic religious propaganda!" Sorry, little fellas.
If only the choice were yours...
Sully is such a putz on many levels:
1) Sexual hypocrisy
2)Embracing of racism and white supremacism
3)Proudly touting his part in killing universal healthcare
Etc., etc., etc.
