We just love special messages from our fans, readers and assorted enemies, but we especially love notes from celebrities.
In the past we've received word from such greats as Owen Hawk and Cady Huffman, but never has such an iconic supernova of a star such as Cyndi Lauper ever thought of lobbing even the most mundane grunt in our direction. We almost pissed ourselves when we heard our favorite fun-loving girl say, "What's up everyone at Queerty..." She even remembered your name! "Everyone!" That's a top notch girl...
Ms. Lauper's made a moving image to give you the "heads up" about her forthcoming, HRC-endorsed True Colors Tour. If you want more information, just head on over the the True Colors Tour website, she says. Then she says, "Thank you" and nods humbly.
Oh, "Cyn" - we're all on a first syllable basis! - we should be thanking you! Thank you for all your pro-gay work, you're super radical music and, most of all, for knowing our name!!! (OMG!) We'd shed a tear if we weren't wearing so much eyeliner - oh, yeah, thank you for that, too.

She performed Time After Time on New Years Eve the year she came out big. She was so blown away by the crowd response that she cried aftwerwards. She was home in New York city and had finally made it. She's still got it. Love Her!

Cyndi is super cool. Nobody supported us like she has. Cyndi is a true friend of our community! Can't wait to see her in June.
Cyndi's older sister is a lesbian...Cyndi's best friend in the 80's (the one who inspired the song True Colors) was gay and passed away from AIDS...and Cyndi herself can identify with being gay because she was an outcast and discriminated for being "different" and "weird" (her talking voice and looks got her into troubles and harrassment, like most gays go thru). SHE RULES!!!

I saw Cyndi when she was pregnant, she was the opening act for Tina Turner. She really blew me away! This woman is so talented and doesn't get the recognition she deserves!

One of the amazing things about her is that instead of making purely commercial decisions with her music, she chose to write and sing songs that meant something. She really does want to make a difference.
I remember in the 90's Cyndi cut her honeymoon short to fly back (from some foreign country) to manhattan
to DJ at an AIDS Dance-A-Thon in NYC
(to raise money for AIDS research)_
I know not many celebrities would do something like that (cut their honeymoon short to raise money for AIDS research).
She really deserves much more success. Her new Album will be out in July. I really hope that our community will embrace her work. She is so underrated, amazing singer and a very good actress. She really is Brilliant!
Gay folks have had a good friend in Cyndi Lauper for years. Being straight myself, I've learned through this great singer that diversity is a beautiful thing. I am bringing my wife and kids to the show in Denver( Red Rocks Baby!). I want them to be open to all people.
