No doubt Guantanamo Bay's a controversial issue. The US-controlled Cuban Bay has long served as a torturous penal colony. No surprise, then, that the fellas over at Dark Alley Media are getting some flack for their forthcoming skin flick, Gaytanamo.
One irate fan wrote to (giving) head honcho Owen Hawk himself:
I have not seen your video Gaytanamo, but am compelled to write to say how absolutely inappropriate and offensive the project is. Actual human beings are still being held and tortured in Guantanamo Bay. And it is not sexy. I have no problem with your wanting to create a prison camp, sex fantasy. But call it "Captive" or "Renegade Island" or something like that. But sensationalizing and sexing up what is happening in Guantanamo Bay is the like making a porno called "Gay-Auschwitz" - and you wouldn't do that, would you?.Despite this and other outcries, Hawk and his homo-homies insist they do, in fact, have decency and, what's more, reworking the title would defeat their well-planned message. CONTINUED »These are human beings who are being tortured, their lives destroyed. And you are dismissing them and capitalizing on their horror. If you have any sense of decency, you would withdraw this film and either scrap it or re-title it immediately.
