Three More Gay Linguists Fired...

soldierhead.jpg
Approximately forty House Representatives are urging the Pentagon to reconsider its ban on gay Arabic linguists. Spearheaded by Representative Marty Meehan - the Massachusetts politico who regularly fights "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" - the collective asks the Pentagon to justify booting 58 gay Arabic linguists.

Speaking on his own behalf, Meehan pondered:

At a time when our military is stretched to the limit and our cultural knowledge of the Middle East is dangerously deficient, I just can't believe that kicking out able, competent Arabic linguists is making our country any safer.
The outcry comes after government officials fired three more gay linguists, including Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Stephen Benjamin...

Navy Gives Jason Knight Boot Over Press

knightH.jpg
Talk about deja vu. Jason Knight has again been discharged for speaking out about his sexuality. Knight first got the boot back in 2004, but a clerical error led to his proud reenlistment. A true patriot, Knight refused to keep mum on his gay ways and spoke to both Stars and Stripes and Pam Spaulding about being a gay serviceman. Well, it seems navy officials weren't down with his big mouth:

The United States Navy has informed Petty Officer Second Class Jason Knight that it intends to fire him under the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law... [Knight] was notified yesterday that he will be receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy based, in part, on his recent media interviews. Knight was scheduled to end his commitment on May 28, 2007, but will face early dismissal because he chose to go public about his experience.
Of his second discharge, Knight - a trained Hebrew linguist - remarked:
I have now spent five years in the Navy, and I have loved every minute of it. It is unfortunate that in our country, which prides itself on being a beacon of liberty to the world, discrimination is still alive and well, even in our own government. I am proud to be among the one million gay veterans who have answered the call to duty, and I look forward to working alongside them to topple this un-American and counter-productive law.
Sounds like we haven't heard the last of young, heroic Knight...

Turning To Manhunt For Good Fuck?

sanchezman.jpg
Former gay porn star Matt Sanchez may claim to be straight, but it seems the conservative hero's up to his old tricks. A reader swears that he stumbled across Sanchez's horntatically homo Manhunt account, the optimistically entitled "Wrist_Thick". Obviously intrigued, our reader asked Wrist_Thick for more pictures and received the image you see here. That certainly looks like Sanchez, who claims to be straight.

You may recall Sanchez garnered endless ink after being feted at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Marine reservist Sanchez claimed that his peers at Columbia University picked on his army-loving ways. Some eagle-eyed homos, however, recognized him as gay porn star, Rod Majors, who starred as a top in such films as Jawbreaker.

According to Wrist_Thick's profile, however, he can "get into fucking". He also informs Manhunters that he's not into blacks or Asians. Ah, discrimination: the great American tradition:
sanchezprofile.jpg

Also, it's worth mentioning that Sanchez claims to be 33-years old. We all know, however, that he's got a few more years on him: three, to be exact.

Read Wrist_Thick's entire conversation with our reader, after the jump.

Offended Gay Says "Not Enough"

ramodesnipH.jpg
Anti-gay army recruiter Marcia Ramode has a new job. Ramode first caught our queer eye when she blasted would-be soldier Corey Andrew's sexuality and race, telling him to "go back to Africa". Following the controversy, Ms. Ramode found herself suspended, but now army officials have found a new place for her - one where she won't be able to call out the gays, nor cause any more public embarrassment.

Proud Patriot Takes On Peter Pace, Bigotry

knightH.jpg
Jason Knight once lived in fear of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Now that the gay seaman's been readmitted to the Navy, however, he's all about telling. The handsome patriot recently sat down with homo-journo Pam Spaulding for a bit of a chat.

In addition to addressing the "clerical error" that allowed his reentry into the Navy, Knight also takes a second to address General Peter Pace's homo-hating comments:

I respect his opinion but it has no basis or validity... There wasn't a time when I felt that me being homosexual had any effect on the unit, unit cohesiveness, or caused any problems. Look at the number of people booted under the DADT that are in the linguist field, a field that requires a security clearance. If gays and lesbians posed such a threat to national security, then how did they get the clearance in the first place? They said the same thing before they allowed women and blacks in the military.
Knight goes on to dismiss any notion that his fellow soldiers are homophobes, nor did he receive any replies from the 10-12 politicos whom he asked for help. Shocker...

Navy Invites Sailor Back After Booting Him

soldierhead.jpg
Don't Ask, Don't Tell has become one of the most controversial policies in American history. The Clinton-era restriction forbids American soldiers from disclosing or inquiring about their or someone else's homosexuality. Thousands of soldiers have been discharged under this bit of official discrimination, including a young man named Jason Knight.

Knight came out back in 2004, accepted a discharge and forfeited his Navy career. By some miracle - or, perhaps, the military's selective memory - Knight's back in action. From Stars and Stripes:

On his wedding night in July 2004, then-Petty Officer 3rd Class Jason Knight finally accepted a truth he had fought against for years: he was gay.

Almost immediately, he moved to get his marriage annulled. He apologized to the woman he'd married. And when it came time to explain his changing circumstances to the Navy, he left nothing out. Under the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy, he was quickly discharged from the service.

But now - whether through a clerical oversight or what some claim is an unwritten change in policy to keep more gay servicemembers in the ranks at a time of war - Jason Knight is back on active duty.

Since promoted to petty officer second class, Knight is finishing a scheduled one-year tour in Kuwait with Naval Customs Battalion Bravo. And, already kicked out of the Navy once, he sees no need to hide his sexual orientation.

Could it be the military has finally learned the error of its anti-gay ways? Or did Knight just slip through the bureaucratic cracks? Could be the former, for the Navy that asked Knight back. It seems the tide's a changin'...

Gays Are An "Intolerable Risk to Morale"

amccaindont.jpg
Republican presidential candidate John McCain has come out in support of the anti-gay military policy, Don't Ask, Don't Tell. The Clinton-era policy prohibits soldiers from asking or telling their sexual orientation. In a letter to Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, the Senator wrote that the controversial law:

...unambiguously maintains that open homosexuality within the military services presents an intolerable risk to morale, cohesion and discipline...
He also erroneously claims that the Supreme Court, "has ruled that the military may constitutionally discharge a service member for overt homosexual behavior," according to a Earth Times.

Supports DADT, Mum on Mo Morality

bush.jpg
President Bush may not be saying that gays are immoral, but he's got at least one thing in common with General Peter Pace: he's all about 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'. As he sends in more troops against the government's will, old Bushie told reporters that he doesn't want those fighters to be fagalas. Raw Story reports:

US President George W. Bush Tuesday said the policy that bans gays from serving openly in the US military was "good policy," but declined to take a moral stand on homosexuality.

Asked about recent comments from the military's top officer that homosexuality was "immoral," Bush said, "I will not be rendering judgment about individual orientation."

But, he added, "I do believe the 'don't ask/don't tell' policy is good policy."

But, of course, he's also the man who believed invading Iraq to be a good policy, too. And look how that turned out.

Fresh Charges Question Fake Deployment

majorsthisbig.jpg
Matt Sanchez may have more legal problems. The Marine Corp has been investigating the corporeal's porny past, but now the Marine Corps are looking into fresh charges that the man once known as Rod Majors may have pilfered funds from at least two organizations in a phony effort to travel to Iraq. The Marine Corp Times reports: .

..Sanchez’s participation in porn films was part of the investigation, but that two of the three allegations against him involved lying “to various people, including but not limited to, representatives of the New York City United War Veterans Council and U-Haul Corporation” about deploying to Iraq at the commandant’s request.

“Specifically, you wrongfully solicited funds to support your purported deployment to Iraq” by coordinating a $300 payment from the UWVC and $12,000 from U-Haul, [Staff Judge Reserve Col. Charles] Jones wrote.

Not surprisingly, Sanchez has denied the allegations. He also insisted that joining the Marines changed him:
The Marine Corps is a conversion experience, what men were before they joined is not as important as what they become.
That sounds suspiciously like a tag line from a dirty film.

Racist Army Letters Speak For Themselves

With regard to this morning's post on Sgt. Marcia Ramode's hate letters to Corey Andrew with regard to Corey's inquiries on gay soldiers. It's pretty gross.
ramodeH1.jpg
Oh boy, there's so much here, we can't even get around it. Does Ramode realize that US military took land from her ancestors and then marched them off to die? Maybe she forgot. Also, we were confused by that whole gay land thing.

At first we thought she meant Sweden, then we remembered that Corey's black and that there are no black people in Sweden. Luckily, a subsequent email - which we've included after the jump - clears it all up: gay land's in Africa! The birthplace of man and all of civilization.

And, according to Ramode, the same place they apparently do the tango (geography's never been the army's strong suit) and some dance called the "wango".

Troublemaker Confronts Recruiter's Homophobia, Racism

burningflag.jpg
The army's back in the sissie spotlight and it's not looking pretty. About two weeks after General Peter Pace famously referred to homosexuality as "immoral", an army recruiter's in hot water after her less than wholesome replies to New Jersey resident Corey Andrew's queer inquiries.

It all started when Andrew posted his resume on the internet to find a job as a copy writer. For some reason, an army recruiter contacted Andrew to see if he wanted to enlist. Despite knowing the army's stance on the gays, Andrew asked the recruiter whether could contribute as a gay man. The recruiter, Sgt. Marcia Ramode, said his homosexuality would disqualify him - and, for extra emphasis, she used all capitals. This lady obviously meant business. In a later email, Ramode sounds more like Tim Hardaway than a national "hero".

Plus, McGreevey and Gates Voice Their Opinions...

peterpacesmall.jpg
General Peter Pace's recent "immoral" musings weren't his first time speaking out against the gays. Newsweek reports that Pace used a 2005 speaking event at Wharton express his less-than-tasteful thoughts on homos in the military:

The U.S. military mission fundamentally rests on the trust, confidence and cooperation amongst its members. And the homosexual lifestyle does not comport with that kind of trust and confidence.
In conjunction with their findings, Newsweek also conducted a poll and found that 63% of American civilians and 58% of soldiers support openly gay men and women serving the country.

Meanwhile, former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey spent the weekend in Santa Fe, NM, where he used an HRC-endorsed speech to admonish the chairman of the Joint Chiefs:

Gen. Pace’s remarks were so terribly unfortunate, not only because that’s what he believes but the notion that don’t ask, don’t tell actually encourages people to be less than honest, less than open, less than transparent.
And, really, isn't it all about transparency?

For his part, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates remarked on NBC's Meet the Press:

I think I'll leave it at the fact that I don't think this is an issue where personal opinion has any place.I think we should just move on from this point... I think the American people are lucky to have him as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Oh, yes! We feel terribly lucky to have this terrible homophobe leading our military! Yippee! The only way it could be better would be if he dropped a nuke in some country populated only by brown people! Then it'd be a dream!!
