New York Attorney General and frontrunner in the race for NY Governor Eliot Spitzer has taken his already strong support for marriage equality to the next level. Upon being elected governor, he has promised to introduce and champion same-sex marriage legislation in New York.
What a crazy position! Imagine the political fall-out! His Republican opponent has already started to use this ample ammunition in his own campaign by: not addressing gay marriage and focusing instead on economic issues. Perhaps Hillary Clinton and other politicians who refuse to support same-sex marriage out of fear should take notes from Mr. Spitzer. Everyone, even Republicans, will respect you more if you take a position instead of a non-position.

Candidates work off fear. If they sense their opponent is uncomfortable talking about something, then they attack that and try to put them on the defensive. But if you are clear and strong, they look for another weak spot to exploit.
spitzer- and few others- like webb in VA, and others are what the Democrats need. People who will stop being afraid of being bitch slapped by christianists for having values like equality
Over at my place, talking about the Libertarian Governor candidate in Alabama, Loretta Nall, who is working to arrange gay weddings in Birmingham and Montgomery even though a "one man-one woman" ballot initiative passed recently. Also, after the initiative passed, an Alabama judge married a tranny to his girlfriend, after all, he is a biological man.
