Gay Icons Accept Blood Money

elton-celine.jpg

Elton John is making $500,000 per night to perform at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, and that alone makes us a little pissed when we compare it to a blogger's salary, but what adds insult to injury is that the owner of Caesar's Palace is a notorious religious homophobe creationist who spends his billions on conservative causes when he's not paying flamboyant entertainment acts.

But what's more disturbing than Sir Elton's participation in the anti-gay agenda? Celine Dion, who is arguably even more of a gay man than Elton John, has also earned millions at Caesar's Palace, though we partially forgive her because we know she had to pay for all the Swarovski crystals on her wedding veil, and for that weird vow renewal ceremony (pictured above) she and her husband did back in 2000 where they decked out Caesar's Palace like an Arab mosque. Love has never been so expensive.

Ok, this makes no sense. First off Ceasars Palace is owned by Harrahs Entertainment which has NO affiliation with Philip Anschutz. Harrahs, and Hilton Hotels rank an 86 On HRCs Equality index and take good care of us. This "story" from the Telegraph is full of errors. While Anschutz is a right wing jerk, he has limited to no investment in Vegas.

It's not Caesar's Palace that's owned by Philip Anschutz, it's the Celine Dion show, and then the Elton John one, that's produced by the Anschutz Entertainment Group. See for yourself here:

Perhaps you should do just a tiny bit of research before screeching about nonexistent errors. Bzzzzt! Denied!

Excuse me, the above story states, "but what adds insult to injury is that the owner of Caesar's Palace is a notorious religious homophobe creationist who spends his billions on conservative causes when he's not paying flamboyant entertainment acts."

Hello, OWNER of Caesar's?? I think not. Fuck off. Bzzt yourself.

Well, if we're going to play the game of anality, let's quote the comment you made.

"This "story" from the Telegraph is full of errors. While Anschutz is a right wing jerk"

The story from the Telegraph never said Anschutz owns Caesar's Palace, at all. It never even mentioned Caesar's Palace. You didn't even read it, did you? Don't lie again now, you'll just make things worse.

Now let's look at another quote of yours:

"While Anschutz is a right wing jerk, he has limited to no investment in Vegas."

His entertainment group has plenty of investments in Las Vegas: Namely the Celine Dion/Elton John show at the Colliseum. This lying of yours is getting pathological.

I hope you now see where you were so terribly, terribly wrong, and apologize to the good people at the London Telegraph, who did their journalistic duties correctly only to be impugned by someone who didn't even read the article.

Shouldn't the two of you be bitching at the Queerty editor, he was the one that made the jump from Anschutz owning the show, to Anschutz owning the hotel...Perhaps Queerty should apologize...

Why would I want to bitch at the most auspicious and wondrous editors of Queerty? Zephyr is the one who has a problem with the story they posted.

Reading comprehension is at a premium these days. Something with more pictures and less of those pesky words would suit some of you better.

Pissing matches should probably be moved from this comment thread to the previous one about urinals. No?

I was correcting an apologist for people who finance an influential homophobe. But if all you get out of this is that it's a pissing contest, perhaps you've been spending too much time in the urinals.

Homophobic, creationist religious fundamentals running shows and/or hotels/casinos in vegas? Sheesh, maybe it was better when the Mob ran the place.
