Summer Swimwear: It's Time To Show Off The Beach Bod

It's the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend — which means a little something more than you simply taking off of work early for an long weekend (longer, still, if you're among nearly everyone we know who's calling in sick on Tuesday). It also means it's the kick-off to summer. Whether you're a New Yorker headed to Fire Island or the Hamptons, or a New Englander heading to Martha's Vineyard or the Cape, it's beach time. After your months of personal training (right?) and making good on your New Year's resolution (right?) to turn that spare tire into an ass that's fit for leather chaps, it's time to show off your goods. Which means it's also time to check out this summer's hottest swimwear.

Swimsuit

We've fallen for Blueman's Tropical Print squarecuts, featuring a lively floral print with still enough white space to show off what really counts. Colorful, but not obnoxiously so. [Link]

Swimsuit

Andrew Christian is always serving up something to get you hot and bothered, but perfect to cool off in the Atlantic with. Take their signature cross red low squarecuts, which hugs you in all the right places. (Looking for something a tad more conservative? Try the standard squarecut.) [Link]

Swimsuit

AussieBum always delivers sexy and functional. Try out their white Footy short, which can be a suit all on its own or used to cover up something a little more skimpy. [Link]

Swimsuit

For those daring enough (and we'd love to know who you are), opt for Las Olas's split leg bikini suit: part 80s track suit, part Euro standard affair. And all four color options are bright enough to announce your arrival to on-lookers miles down the beach. [Link]

Swimsuit

Then again, not everybody is confident enough to pull of a suit that shows off so much thigh. If that's you, there's still some stylish options, like Sauvage's plaid boxer trunk (above left) [Link] or Penguin's Green Lantern board shorts (above right) [Link].

Just remember: Whether it's board shorts, bikinis, trunks, or squarecuts, load up on SPF. And keep your Lycra thong at home.

Ughhh....come on boys. "Beach Bod"? Some of us have bigger fish to fry than hanging out at the gym and gossiping about who got calf implants.
Gay body dismorphia is a reality.
