Ian McKellen Wishes He Were Super-Powerful

Ian McKellen Magneto

We are foaming at the mouth to see the new X-Men 3 movie, especially now that we know Magneto will be extra fierce. The plot of the latest installment focuses on the idea that mutants can be "cured" of their mutantness. Now anyone who knows the X-Men knows it is a very thinly veiled metaphor for the gays, so gay actor Sir Ian McKellen, who plays maverick sometimes-villain Magneto, pretended during filming that he was blowing up Jerry Falwell and everyone else who believes that homosexuality is a disease with a cure. We already find comic book movies oddly moving, but we think this one might make us cry.

Erm...I watched the movie already (it's released a couple of days earlier here in Asia), and I was...entertained.

I won't say any more, because I don't want to spoil the movie for anybody. :D

Jonathon says:

Sir Ian has quickly become one of my favorite actors, not just for his obvious talent but because of his willingness to speak his mind. I look forward to watching this installment of the X-Men series and will be right there with Ian imagining Jerry Falwell's fat face as I watch Magneto blow things up left and right.

Of course, the main attraction for me is the uber-woofy Wolverine, aka Hugh Jackman. What. A. Man. *sigh*
