Hundreds of Sacramento-area students rallied to support four students suspended for wearing anti-gay shirts. One participant said: "It's only going to get worse against Christians. We're going to get persecuted more and more. But those who stand to the end: God is going to save them." Um, right...

Sony's banking on Spider Man 3. Literally. Some insiders claim the flick cost $300 million to produce. No doubt, however, it'll make it back. And then some.

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission will honor Nepal's Blue Diamond Society for all their hard activist work. Unfortunately, they will not be honored with actual blue diamonds.

Maryland's House has passed a bill requiring health insurance companies to extend benefits to same-sex partners and children. The bill now needs to be signed by the governor to become a law. (We totally just had a School House Rock flashback.)

Sri Lanka may forbid homosexuality, but that's not stopping gay activists from planning a pride event. Trouble is, they don't have any money. Do you?

Fleet Week

Perhaps we didn't personally take part in Fleet Week – that is, we didn't hit the Midtown bars and molest our white uniformed men – but we've already heard plenty of stories from around New York involving these young lads, who dock in Manhattan for a week of debauchery (but less so than years past).

Gay rugby and gay cowboys

We have been peeing ourselves in anticipation of this weekend, during which a gay rugby tournament, a gay cowboy festival, and Fleet Week all converge on New York City. What we didn't realize and one of our clever readers pointed out, is that two of these three groups of homos are staying at the same hotel.

But we couldn't possibly tell you which one because it just wouldn't be ethical to sick legions of blog-reading gays upon these already beleaguered groups. The ruggers will be so tired after all that football, after all. No, really, we shouldn't say.

Oh all right, it's the Roosevelt Hotel on 45th and Madison. Enjoy the weekend everybody!

Bingham Cup

Here in New York, we can't walk 10 blocks without being accosted by a swarm of sailors, in town for Fleet Week. So how could we not be focusing entirely on this beef wrapped in form-fitting white uniforms (complete with caps!)? Because it's also the annual Bingham Cup, where the international gay rugby leagues have culminated in our fair town for a long weekend of rough play, jockeying for position, and ball grabbing.

If you're looking to catch some inevitable pants dropping, check our the tourney schedule to know where you should be. Or, you know, you could just hit the bars with these burly types, starting tonight at Spirit.
