The Gayssip: Adam Sandler's Domestic Parternship Punchline

Adam Sandler

• Gay rights: Hollywood plotline? That's what it looks like for Adam Sandler and Kevin James' new vehicle, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. The film – currently in pre-production – has Sandler and James posing as gay firefighting lovers to get domestic parternship benefits. Are gays the punchline, or is this a sign we've moved beyond Queer Eye-ification? [IMDB]

Stephen Dorff claims he's surprised he's not gay, given his childhood proclivity to watch women getting ready. [Sky]

• Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is officially the top World Cup pinup, at least according to Dutch homo rag Gay Krant. He beat out second-placer Markus Rosenberg, followed by England's Michael Owen and David Beckham, to seal his affection from gay fans worldwide. [Pink News]

Chris says:

I know this is what IMDB said about the Sandler movie's plot, but it doesn't make sense... if they're BOTH firefighters, then they'd already have the same insurance, retirement, and other benefits, right? This would only make sense if only one of them were a firefighter. Not that I expect a Sandler pic to be particularly intelligent or logical, but if that's really the plot it's even lamer than usual.

The Ghost of Smokey Bear says:

Most of the fire departments in the United States depend upon volunteer fire fighters, who don't receive pay much less benefits, although they are probably covered under Workers Comp.

Sounds like another story of working class people as told by rich Hollywood stars.
