Bloggers Weigh Rosie, Ripa
Not Surprisingly, Ripa Comes Out on Top

kellyr.jpg
It's tempting to get riled up over that Golan Cipel thing, but let's not forget another recent - yet just as homofied - scandal: the Rosie O'Donnell/Kelly Ripa/Clay Aiken feud.

Taking a deeper look at the issue, homo-journo Zack Hudson turned to the best source for journalistic musings: bloggers. While we never connected with Hudson, our pervaholic brother, Frank Griggs found time between snatching images of naked ruggers to speak on behalf of !! omg blog !!:

I think it’s impossible to say for sure if Kelly’s remarks were homophobic...My feeling is that they were not homophobic remarks, actually. Also, it’s such a common thing to say, ‘you don’t know where that hand’s been.’ I think that Rosie was overreacting [Emphasis added].

Griggs then excused himself to have a wank to pictures of Steve Tabary.

Jeremy Hooper from Good As You also piped in, saying: "If Ripa had meant it in even a slightly anti-gay way, she likely would have reacted in a more calculated, publicist-crafted way". And that's a fact, jack.

Seems to me like her initial comments on the R&K show were not outright homophobic.
Many of Kelly's comments to Rosie on The View were.
Ripa didn't score any points in my book either way though, that's for sure.

Rosie wasn't just referring to the one-off Ripa comment the day of the "hand" incident. There was also Ripa's 5 minute anti-Clay diatribe the following Monday when Kelly talked about her friend Howard Stern and how they had discussed it, etc, etc. Why does that always get left out of these discussions? Look at all of Ripa's comments together , not just Friday's little quip, and you'll get what Rosie was talking about. Clearly, and without a doubt. homophobic.

Despite Kelly Ripa's homophobic comment, I don't think that she is atually homophobic. she was just pissed that Clay had upstaged her and, like a tru diva, sensed a weak spot in Aiken and decided to dig her nails in it. There have been many, many blogs written about that aspect of the controversy.

I guess you missed them.

Okay, Ripa is a homophobe, or at least a homo-disliker...

Ripa's primary defense to her kniption (and HELLO, YES it was a KNIPTION) was that the whole hand-face thing was a germ thing, and she has spawn to protect don't ya know.

I call uber-provable-BULLSHIT. There are *videos* of Ripa sticking her WHOLE HAND (well most of it) in her mouth, and smearing it ALL over Regis's face. This isn't the *only* hand-face manuever that has been caught. This shoots HUGE holes in her defense.

Also, LDC (who commented above) has it right. Look at Ripa's behavior from a 100 feet view... Condsider her behavior in other instances, you start to see the picture.

Now, after all of this, take a look at ourselves? Should we even bother talking about this? God, we are such media pirhanna's slavering over every piece of stupid gossip about people we care nothing about and shows we don't even care to watch. Sorry buddies, but I am at *work* when these shows air, and I bet you are too.

BTW, I blogged about this story too (shame on me... wait, I have no shame.) I won't post a link, but you can find it on my site if intersted but it basically says the same stuff I said above, however it has links to video and pictures making my case.

It's a shame that Blogerista's haven't done their homework.

I always have terrible trouble with comment-related plugins that require me to put some line in the comment loop; I can never seem to find the right spot. Can anyone tell me where I should put the php line in my comments loop? I haven not modified anything much, and I would be very grateful. Thanks!

Since one of the ideas is to split strings not into words, but hopefully into phrases more semantically informative than the words they are made of, doing that better should mean better suggestions, and avoiding what essentially are word n-tuples should make for smaller data and slightly faster querying.

If there were in the world today any large number of people who desired their own happiness more than they desired the unhappiness of others, we could have paradise in a few years.
