She does so much for our community and gets nothing in return. Her music is so underrated.Nobody's supported the Gay and Lesbian community longer than Cyndi has.
She's worked with PFLAG, and Matthew Shepard Foundation, and she was at the very first AIDS Benefit in LA,
and she was the first to donate all the profits from a song to AIDS research.
Cyndi's Version of "When You Were Mine" was about her still loving a guy who was going with another guy
(anyone else do a song like that in the mid-80's?). Don't think so....Go Cyndi!

My son Harry is in love with a very tall black man called Nick. Last week Harry brought Nick to stay the night in our country cottage and I went into the garden and cut a few yellow roses for their bedside table. Just as I would if this charming man was a girlfriend.

My 83-year-old father fought in some of the most horrific battles of World War II, was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart. He shakes his head in sadness at the life his grandson has had to live. He says he fought alongside homosexuals in those battles, that they did their part and bothered no one. One of his best friends in the service was gay, and he never knew it until the end, and when he did find out, it mattered not at all. That wasn't the measure of the man.

Cyndi Lauper is not only talented but also one of the most underrated female singers of this generation(she possesses a four-octave vocal range) and Emmy Award-winning film, television and theatre actress. Her melodic voice and wild costumes have come to epitomize the 1980s and New Wave — the decade and genre in which she first came to fame. I am so glad to see Cyndi doing her own thing..supporting her lesbian sister and supporting our community. She deserves much more success!

I love Cyndi's voice. I love her dance singles. Shine, You Don't Know, Disco Inferno and Cleo and Joe. She is respected as a singer and as an artist. Great voice.

I used to be deeply in love with Cyndi Lauper, and saw her live when she was 50 a few years ago and she was great. One of the best voices ever. However, I can't help but feel she never fulfilled her true potential as an artist and singer.

God I love this woman so much... I look up to her as if she were my mother, she has given me so much strength, courage and optimism everytime I needed it. I will always appreciate that, she's one of the two people I want to meet the most in my life, she and Alanis, my idols. :-)

Cyndi is amazing and I love that in her very colorful language she made a very important point. In essense: If you condone discrimination tomorrow it may be you who's discriminated against.
