Elton John Likes The Smell of Leather
And, Apparently, Black Men

Elton John had a busy weekend. Not only did the knighted pop star celebrate 60 years of fabulosity, but he apparently made a little time for the Black Party. Or, that's what Ben Widdicombe would have you believe. He writes in today's Gatecrasher:

...Elton John celebrated his 60th-birthday weekend in New York with a visit to the infamous Black Party, an annual gay S&M-themed bash at Roseland Ballroom.

He was spotted around 3 a.m. holding court in a small back room with a new pal, described as "a very tall and muscular African-American man wearing black leather."

But our source - who, like Mr. J., was sober - says his visit failed to make much of a stir among the revelers: "Everyone was so messed up on drugs or drink they could have seen anything and hardly noticed or cared."

Coupled with your answers from yesterday's guessing game, Elton John may be the most virile 60 year old on the planet. Or the sleaziest. It's a toss-up.

did you ever stop to think that maybe, jst maybe, the "revelers" at the black party didn't bother to notice Sir Elton because it might be UNCOOL to do so? whoever leaked this item to Widdicombe should be ashamed of himself. It totally violates the whole code of the Black party - discretion and not blabbing to the media who was there doing what.

Commenters 1 and 2 are correct. It's terribly uncouth to name names when discussing the Black Party, unless someone has already made their attendance public. Furthermore, while I had only a small part in the production, I am friends with some of the producers and my part was enough to get me into all the little back rooms. I neither saw him nor heard anything about him being there until this report. Someone has an overactive imagination.

Well, I personaly agree, but I also think there was no real harm done, no one is going to listen to some idiot after Elton was accused of stuff like this a while back.
