Shit, is it us or does Elton John just live to party? After his recent excursion into all things cockney to his lavish 60th birthday bash, this queen's got more energy than a crystal junkie. Good thing, too, because the legendary rocker had a whirlwind weekend.
Festivities began at New York's appropriately named Cathedral Church of St John The Divine, where nearly 500 guests crammed the heavily decorated landmark. Among the revelers, party goers could spot Elizabeth Hurley, the beast Donatella, the Osbournes, Yoko, among others. Elton's homo-hubbie, David Furnish, planned the party and even managed to produce a short tribute featuring loving words from Paul McCartney, Celine Dion and Rod Stewart. And, for some reason, Jim Carrey.
Furnish got his thanks when John dedicated a song to him at a record-breaking concert at Madison Square Garden. Twenty thousand fans joined stars to help John ring in another year and his groundbreaking 60th performance at MSG. To 60 more, Elton!
