It wouldn't be a day without a bit of Rosie O'Donnell related controversy. You guys may recall the hub-bub over Danny DeVito's train wreck of an appearance on the show, an appearance that led many to assume he'd been hitting the bottle. How could we forget? The bizarre and completely idiotic impersonation of President Bush has been seared into our brains, pushing out our last happy childhood memory.
Well, you may have seen Rosie's somewhat distasteful controversial comments on the controversial coverage. No? Play the video above.
We're not sure why everyone's raising such a stink. We don't think the big R's being offensive. We just think she's keeping with the great comedic tradition of making fun of Asian people. Because, really, there ain't nothing funnier. Except, maybe, needling the gays.
ENOUGH ALREADY!! How I wish Rosie would just go away... I am really sick of her at this point and just wish she would drop outta sight for a while. Who cares what Rosie thinks?
I find the View offensive. I find that such codswollop is taking up waaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on the air and is more of a self-serving vehicle for the "cast" than for anything/anyone else. Instead of the View, viewers should be subjected to some reality-based reporting where they can at least LEARN something instead of the non-news that the View cast generates for its own nefarious ends.
Rosie doesn't speak for me, nor does she speak for the gay community. Rosie speaks for Rosie.... and since she loves the sound of her own voice she speaks a lot - but never really says much of significance.
if you don't like rosie, don't watch the view. rosie has only offered her opinion or VIEW of things, and has never claimed to be speaking for the whole gay community.
and it is ridiculous that she can't do anything without making news. she can't express her view without some wise ass, anti-gay and gay folk, depicting her as fat and angry (ny post cartoon) lesbian.
Gimme a break. Rosie was making a joke--she's a COMEDIAN. People get so worked up about everything she says or does which only adds fuel to the fire and gives her maybe more attention than she deserves.
WELL. You know it IS called "the View" and not everyone has to agree with it or find it funny. I have imitated the Chinese language before and I've had Chinese imitate the sounds of English to me before. It was funny both ways. I don't think it's really racist, per se- it's just saying you wouldn't understand the language and these are the sounds you are hearing. Sort of like Charlie Brown's teacher- "wha wha wha whaaaa, wha wha wha?"
Still neither one of us would have broadcasted those imitations on national television. So I really don't know. When one is on national TV, there is a responsibility but then that filter gets in the way of free expression at times. It's a hard line to draw.
It' people who think this is an "issue" who are ruining this world.
Everyone needs to grow the f**k up and get a sense of humor.
I'll bet those of you who think her comments are funny and ...all those offended should get over it...are white!
There's nothing funny or humorous about racism, jerks!
lets bust a few queer jokes on the view...then we can bust some jews, and some nig...as..howbout, hmmmm, just good fun , right. Wrong. If I pay money to go to a comedy club, I expect that type of humor, but not on network television, it was completely unacceptable.
