As you may or may not know, Vanity Fair's running a piece on everyone's favorite disgraced Congressman, Mark Foley.
While some people may be more interested in the political intrigue surrounding the unceremonious disintegration of his political career, we're more intrigued by the self-professed homo-drunk's rise to glory.
Our curiosity's particularly piqued by this quote from Dennis Koehler's campaign manager Sean Strub:
Mark invited me to fancy society parties. ...I'm very much driven by my passion for issues and wanting to change things. Mark had a very different set of values. He wore gold chains and liked to go to parties. He was about his ambition and his Mercedes. It was clear that, more than anything else, Mark wanted to be a player.
Also, it's been a while since our short-lived career as players, so we're a little rusty. Does having salacious internet conversations with teenage boys count as being a player?
No? Oh. Well, it's probably too late for Foley to realize that dream, huh?
